American Bakers Association chief to phase down

WASHINGTON — The American Bakers Association on June 24 announced Robb MacKie, who has led the business because 2006, will stage down at the stop of 2022.

The ABA said Mr. MacKie is leaving to “focus on relatives entire time.” A search for his successor will be done.

“For 27 several years, 17 as president and CEO, it has been my deepest privilege and honor to serve the baking industry,” Mr. MacKie claimed. “I have devoted my entire enthusiasm and vitality to preserving and expanding this noble business that feeds our region and communities.

“Meanwhile, the devotion to my loved ones drastically overshadows my deep commitment to ABA and our associates. It is due to the fact of their sacrifices and assist that I have been ready to aim on representing the market I enjoy. Now it is time for me to exercise what I preach by placing loved ones first and emphasis my comprehensive awareness and passion on assisting my household through our worries. I only request for the industry’s and friends’ help, prayers, and regard for my family’s privacy.”

The ABA mentioned Mr. MacKie will continue to be on the following 6 months “to ensure a very prosperous Worldwide Baking Field Exposition (IBIE), which ABA co-owns.”

Mr. MacKie joined the ABA in 1995 as vice president of federal government relations. Around the upcoming 11 yrs he labored to boost the organization’s profile and performance in Washington policy circles as an advocate and spokesperson for the ABA. He also worked as a liaison with the ABA’s Human Methods, Protection, Fleet and Distribution, Legal and Executive Management Development Committees.

Just before becoming a member of the ABA, Mr. MacKie worked for Congresswoman Marjorie Holt of Maryland and Congressman Jim Kolbe of Arizona.

He is a 1985 graduate of Frostburg Point out University.

“The baking marketplace has experienced the privilege of Robb’s passion and expertise for 27 several years,” explained Cordia Harrington, ABA chair and founder and CEO of Crown Bakeries. “He has produced a big, constructive big difference in our business lives and particular lives. I respect his choice to put his loved ones first and am incredibly grateful for Robb’s perseverance and service.”

Bradley K. Alexander, instant past chair of the ABA and chief functioning officer of Bouquets Food items, included, “Robb has been a mate, trustworthy adviser, and tireless advocate for our industry and the several associates affiliated with the American Bakers Affiliation. We will miss out on his strategic management and want him all the best.”

Mr. MacKie mentioned he will miss “the day by day interactions with a potent staff of market leaders and the most respected and productive crew of affiliation pros in Washington.”
