Ken Baldwin Jr.
Ken Baldwin Jr., who funded the company journalism application at the University of South Carolina, died on June 13 at the age of 96.
Barbara Ball of The Voice of Blythewood writes, “A College of South Carolina Alumnus with a diploma in journalism (B.A., 1949) and former business editor, Baldwin thought today’s journalists should be enterprise savvy if they are to report on the essential fiscal challenges that effect visitors. He ongoing to enrich their instruction by way of his generous contributions, totaling far more than $3 million, to the USC School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
“Baldwin set up, in 2009, the USC Baldwin Small business and Economical Journalism Endowment Fund that supports university student and college initiatives that contain analysis, symposia, lecturers, visiting professors, student assistantships and connected applications.
“The Baldwin Chair that he recognized in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications lets college students to understand from an accomplished journalist with skills in business and money journalism.”
