Hooked on speed? iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max may get this massive booster shot

The latest leak suggests that iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will pack upgraded chipsets with higher benchmark scores than their current iPhone 13 equivalents.

A number of revelations, from leaks to educated guesses, have indicated what the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max may offer buyers. Whether it is about camera upgrades, design makeover, new chipsets or new features, we already have a rough idea of what these iPhone 14 Pro models may bring. Nothing official about it, but still believable as some of these sources have been quite accurate in the past. The latest leaks, by iHacktu, suggest that both the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will receive some really spectacular enhancements in terms of speed. Yes, they will be getting the new chips, and these are set to be much faster than the current chips powering the iPhone 13 Pro models.

Reportedly, the Pro models of the iPhone 14 series will pack the latest A16 chipset, while the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14, will continue to pack the same A15 chipset, which is currently available on iPhone SE 3 and iPhone 13 series. This chipset will likely receive upgrades of its own. According to an anonymous leaker iHacktu, Apple is expected to offer a major performance upgrade on its A16 chipset over the current flagship A15 Bionic chip. The leakster is certainly not one of the more accurate ones, but this time, he is being backed by another one who has acquired quite a reputation for accuracy. ¬†Also read: Will iPhone 14 Max be a game changer? iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to get a major battery upgrade?

To be precise in terms of the performance upgrade, iHacktu ileaks says A16 has 42% and 35% faster CPU and GPU performance respectively in comparison to A15. The leaked tweet also mentioned the benchmark Antutu score for the A16 chip at 896000. This also claims big battery improvements with iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max which is expected to provide an additional 2 hours 10 minutes of extra stamina and a leap in fast charge speed. The leak suggests that the Pro models of iPhone 14 will be able to charge as much as 50 percent in just 16 minutes. This comes as a surprise, as it is almost half of the time Apple claims for the iPhone 13 Pro model.

The leak has acquired some heft as it has been backed by the industry insider ShrimpApplePro who mentioned that Apple is achieving the performance upgrade “mostly from LPDDR5 RAM so it makes sense.” Not just the battery, the leak also suggested the screen update for energy economy, camera update, and new material used in these iPhones.

Though nothing can be confirmed before the launch of the iPhone 14, but if these leaks about the chipset upgrades turn out to be true, then, this will be the biggest gain in performance since the A10 chipset on iPhone 7 chip in 2016- it had a 40 percent CPU and 50 percent GPU upgrade over its predecessor.
