Moto G42 from Motorola is expected to launch in India soon, as suggested by the newest leaks. Here are all details.
Motorola apparently has the Moto G42 in the pipeline for India! Yes, if the leaks are to taken seriously, Motorola could be launching another G series smartphone in the affordable segment. We had recently seen the Moto G82 in India taking care of the sub- ₹25,000 space and now, the Moto G42 could be doing the same for the budget space. The phone was already launched in Brazil weeks ago and is essentially a watered down variant of the Moto G52 4G, a phone which we had also tested a while ago.
The Moto G42 is coming to India is a few weeks, says tipster Yogesh Brar via his social media feed. Given that Motorola has been serving its smartphones faster than we can digest, it seems highly likely for the company to launch this phone to take on the Redmi and Realme smartphones in the sub- ₹15,000 space.

Motorola Moto G42 launching in India soon
The Moto G42 is essentially a toned down variant of the Moto G52, a phone that we loved and preferred over the segment popular Redmi Note 11. Similar to the Moto G52, the Moto G42 uses the popular and reliable Snapdragon 680 chipset. This phone also comes with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. The battery capacity remains similar too at 5000mAh but the Indian variant is said to use a slower 18W wired charging solution.
The changes come in the display only, which is a smaller 6.4-inch OLED display with a standard refresh rate of 60Hz and a fat chin. Another area is the design, which sees a mildly updated rear camera hump. Rest of the stuff largely remains unchanged.
That means you get a similar triple camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera comes with a 16MP sensor. Motorola sells the phone with its take on stock Android 12 out of the box.
