OTT releases: Binge watchers are going to have an amazing time this weekend as some big titles are premiering on various OTT platforms today. After some interesting web series like Udan Patolas and The Broken News last week, this week’s lineup is even stronger and more diverse. Disney+ Hotstar takes the lead with two big releases today. Nayanthara starrer O2 witnessed its direct-to-digital premier alongside the six-episode long thriller mystery series Masoom which also marked the debut of Boman Irani. Apart from them, Telugu crime thriller Recce, second season of She and Jayamma Panchayathi also made their individual debut on Zee5, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. O2 on Disney+ Hotstar

O2 is a direct-to-digital release starring superstar Nayanthara and Ritvick. The Tamil-language thriller is a survival movie where the protagonist gets stuck in a bus with her child and despite her respiratory condition, must find a way to get out.

Masoom on Disney+ Hotstar

This mystery thriller marked the OTT debut of Boman Irani. Directed by Mihir Desai of Mirzapur fame, Masoom is a six-episode long mini series which is an adaptation of the Irish series Blood. The story tests familial bonds after a daughter begins investigation into her mother’s death.

Recce on Zee5

This Telugu-language crime drama brings back the retro vibes as it is set in the 1990s. Recce is a seven-episode long series and largely focuses on a murder investigation. Popular actors Sriram and Siva Balaji play the lead roles and are supported by Dhanya Balakrishna, Saranya Pradeep, Ramaraju, Rajshri Nair and others.

She season 2 on Netflix

Aaditi Pahonkar reprises her role as Bhumika Pardeshi as she continues her journey towards empowerment and her twisted love interest. Written by Imtiaz Ali, the crime thriller comes back for seven more episodes as Bhumi delves deeper into the world of crime and drugs. Kishore Kumar G, Vishwas Kini, Shivani Rangole and others also return in their familiar roles.

Jayamma Panchayathi on Amazon Prime Video

Starring famous actress and television host Suma Kanakala in the lead role, Jayamma Panchayathi is a tale of a woman who has gone broke tending to her ailing husband and now must find newer ways to pay for the medical expenses. This Telugu-language movie touches upon some important social issues such as casteism and classism.
